On 10 November 2023, several dozen military officers together with representatives of the territorial community of the town "transferred" the Kazan Church of the UOC to the OCU in Ladyzhyn.
The Telegram channel "Ladyzhyn Info" writes that the decision to "transfer" the Holy Kazan Church of the Tulchyn Eparchy of the UOC "under the canonicity of the OCU" (as put in the original – Ed.) was made by "an initiative community ... with the participation of the military on Friday".
At the "general town meeting", the initiators of the seizure of the UOC temple said, "Despite the war in the country, Moscow churchmen continue to weave a web of discord in the community."
"Military men decided to intervene in the situation and support their community. They devoted their only day on leave to the important cause – supporting the community in its desire to move to the single Local Church of Ukraine," the report said.
As a result, 1306 people "voted" in favour of the transition of the temple "under the canonicity of the OCU", which was notified to the Department of Nationalities and Religions of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration - "to change the constituent documents of the religious community of the town".
As earlier reported, a man in military uniform attacked a pregnant parishioner of the UOC in the village of Luh.
