Unknown fraudsters have created in messengers fake accounts of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, and with their help to find out confidential information in different eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, said Father Nikita on his Telegram channel.
He noted that the fraudsters, introducing themselves by his name, "write to the clergy of different eparchies in order to get at least some information about legal defence cases". They also tried to contact one of the ruling bishops by phone and obtain legal documents of his eparchy.
The lawyer published several screenshots of the correspondence that the unknown persons are conducting on his behalf.
"Please be careful and do not give in to provocations!” Father Nikita emphasised. “Check with whom you communicate, do not disclose any information to the enemies of the Church of Christ!".
As reported, earlier attackers registered a fake page of Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets on Facebook.
