Unknown individuals broke into the Kyiv Caves Lavra Monastery on the night of November 26, 2023, and vandalized several buildings, according to the UOJ correspondent.

In Building 70a, the vandals smashed windows and broke window frames. In Building 42, they broke windows, tore down protective shutters and blinds, and damaged electrical wires. They also scattered candles outside the building. The affected areas include the office, accounting department, treasury, and jewelry workshop.

Monks reported recognizing the attackers as activists who, the night before, had hung gnawed bones on trees near the temple of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The police allowed them into the Lavra through the checkpoint.

At present, the monks have called the police to document the crimes.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a priest explained the reasons for praying for the Lavra.
