The Kyiv City Council has once again refused to publish the petition "Opposing Discrimination Against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church" from the journalists of the "Dialog.TUT" resource. The publication reported this on its Facebook page.
Officials sent a response to the journalists, stating that "dealing with manifestations of discrimination is precisely what the Kyiv City Council is engaged in, and the petition EXCLUSIVELY related to issues within the purview of the KCC."
"Refusing to even publish the petition – not to mention not responding to it or taking the measures we requested in it – is precisely discrimination," noted "Dialog.TUT."
"Here we are, friends. The second refusal. The first time was on the grounds that the petition allegedly did not come to them for consideration at all (although we have evidence to the contrary). These people who are currently in the Kyiv City Council should not represent the interests of citizens. Because shouting 'get the priest out,' entire tribunes are provided with film crews. But allowing the community to have its say regarding some nuances, well, that cannot be allowed," wrote the journalists.
Recall that the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration claimed that the UOC harbors FSB agents in its temples. Later, a police statement was filed against him.
