On February 5, 2021, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov said that vaccination in the country would not be compulsory, reports the UNN edition.
According to Maxim Stepanov, the state is obliged to provide citizens with access to free vaccines. He also stressed that the vaccination procedure itself should not be compulsory: "I would like to remind you that vaccination in our country is voluntary."
In addition, Stepanov noted that it will be possible to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for money without waiting in line and regardless of whether the person is at risk.
Private companies, the official said, can vaccinate the population on a commercial basis if the appropriate medical conditions are met and if vaccines registered in accordance with Ukrainian legislation are used.
As reported earlier, the Ministry of Health promised to vaccinate 21 million Ukrainians by the autumn of 2021.
