The Kyiv court resumed consideration of the case on the demolition of the Tithes Monastery of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and the cancellation of the record on state registration of its ownership. The corresponding document of February 8 was posted in the unified state register of court decisions.
The lawsuit says that the National Museum of the History of Ukraine asks the Economic Court to remove the obstacles, obliging the religious community of the Tithes Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv to vacate the “illegally occupied land plot with an area of 133, 2 sq. m. by demolishing the unauthorizedly built real estate object at their own expense and at their own expense to bring the land plot to its previous state”, as well as to cancel entry 1788799 on state registration of ownership of the real estate.
The Economic Court of Kyiv has appointed a forensic land-technical examination, which should establish whether the temple is really located on the territory of the museum.
In 2018 the head of the pagan community "Fern Flower" Viacheslav Tolpyha created a petition on the website of the city administration demanding to demolish the Tithes Monastery of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. The radicals made an assault on the Tithes Monastery and tried to set fire to it. The UOC believers defended the monastery for 10 hours. The litigation around the Tithe Monastery continues to this day. The Kyiv District Court has repeatedly postponed the hearing in the Tithes Monastery case, and on February 8 the Economic Court resumed the proceedings.
As previously reported, the Tithe Monastery distributed masks and disinfectant solutions to parishioners.
