A human rights organization "Union of Orthodox Lawyers" was registered in Kyiv, which will provide legal support to persecuted communities and priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the organization's telegram channel.

The decision to create the Union was taken at the last congress of the Kyiv Brotherhood of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, whose members include lawyers.

After discussing the situation around the illegal re-registration of the communities of the UOC in favor of the OCU, as well as the seizures of churches, houses of priests and other acts of lawlessness, the brothers stated the need to create an open all-Ukrainian Union of Orthodox Lawyers to support the persecuted communities, priests and their families.

“The human rights organization was registered and started its activities. The purpose of its creation is to protect the legitimate interests of the UOC communities, their property and members. The organizers hope to unite all interested lawyers from Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine,” the human rights organization said in its statement.

We will remind that earlier the Kyiv Brotherhood of St. Prince Vladimir, founded with the blessing of the Primate of the UOC in 2015, together with Archpriest Alexander Klimenko organized a marathon in the cities of Ukraine "Save the family – save the nation." As part of the marathon, the priest conducts concerts and meetings with believers, the key topic of which is family values.
