Zelensky discusses "peace formula" with the Pope

On 28 December 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message that he discussed with the Pope the possibility of peace in Ukraine.

"Just spoke with His Holiness Pope Francis," Zelensky stated. “Thanked for Christmas greetings for Ukraine and Ukrainians, for wishing peace – a just peace for all of us."

Also, Zelensky said that he discussed with the Pope "our joint work on the Peace Formula" and thanked the Vatican "for supporting our work".

As reported, the OP spokesperson called the Pope "pro-Russian" and ruled out the possibility of his participation in the negotiation process with Russia.
