The name of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine is mentioned among the names of the heads of the Local Churches who congratulated Patriarch Porfirije and the Serbian Church.

The official website of the Serbian Orthodox Church reported hundreds of congratulations on the election of a new Patriarch. His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia "with the greatest love and attention" read the congratulations of the Orthodox people.

“On this occasion, we will list only the most important heads of the Orthodox Autocephalous and Autonomous Churches, religious dignitaries, representatives of states and important institutions,” the SOC noted.

Then follows a list of the Primates who congratulated Patriarch Porfirije, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry being on the list.

Among the hierarchs who sent congratulations, the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, was also named.

Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, noted that the message on the website of the Serbian Church does not mention the congratulation of the head of the OCU. He considers this very indicative.

“Among the heads of the Churches is Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine,” wrote the spokesman of the UOC in his Telegram channel. “Not Epiphany, no matter how hard he and the Ukrainian embassy in Serbia tried to hype it. His Beatitude Onuphry is the one whom the SOC recognizes as the real Metropolitan of Kyiv!"

As the UOJ reported, the UOC commented on the congratulations of the embassy to the Patriarch of the SOC on behalf of the OCU.
