Law enforcers on duty in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra have started to induce the monks of the monastery to switch to the OCU, reports kozakTv1.
According to the resource, on Christmas night the police or SBU officers behaved aggressively with the monks of the Lavra and even threatened to ban them from moving around the territory of the monastery during the curfew.
It is also reported that law enforcers began to check the monks’ documents not only at the entrance to the Lavra but also inside the monastery.
"They forget, perhaps, that Lavra is not a street but the home of monks. And it is impossible to forbid people to walk in their own house. And they also forget that they are guests here, uninvited ones," the journalists wrote.
As reported, the Ministry of Culture said that the issue of believers living in Lavra "will soon be resolved".
