On the morning of 10 January 2024, OCU supporters raided the UOC Сhurch of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Pishcha, Volyn region, reports Fr Yuri Petroliuk on his Telegram channel citing the parishioner of the temple Anastasia Rybin.
During the seizure, the raiders broke down the door of the ancient temple, which is an architectural monument of national importance, which was built in 1801.
In October 2023, there was a meeting of village residents who spoke in favour of the transfer of the Kazan Church to the OCU. The opinion of the UOC believers and the rector of the temple Archpriest Ioann Davydiuk, who has been serving in this parish for 35 years, were ignored by the OCU supporters.
On 13 October, the OCU "Archbishop" Matthew Shevchuk "accepted" the Kazan Church into the Volodymyr-Volynsky Eparchy of the OCU.
As reported, on 9 December 2024, OCU raiders used a bulldozer to break down the door of the Kazan Church of the UOC in Ladyzhyn, brutally beat and threw the rector and parishioners into the street and seized the church.
