On Sunday, March 7, a representative of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC, Archpriest Nikolai Popescu, took part in the consecration of Bishop Nestor of Hunedoar, vicar of the Virgin Diocese of the Romanian Orthodox Church, reports the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy.

The consecration in the city of Virgo was performed by Metropolitan Laurentius of Transylvania and six more Romanian bishops.

Father Nikolai conveyed congratulations and gifts from Metropolitan Meletius of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna to the new bishop.

The priest of the UOC told the hierarchs of the Romanian Church about the real situation in Ukraine, the seizure of churches, the persecution of believers of the canonical Church and the violation of their rights.

The Romanian bishops wished the clergy and believers of the UOC to be steadfast in their faith and assured that they prayerfully support the persecuted in this difficult time.

As the UOJ reported, on the same day in Iasi, representatives of the UOC took part in the consecration of another bishop of the Romanian Church.
