His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry is a colossus of our Orthodox faith, and the condemnation of people who do not know him is "little things in life that will pass and be forgotten", said Alexander Usik, the Ukrainian heavyweight boxer and a believer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, in the media project of the Odessa Eparchy "People of the Church".

The athlete said that he had repeatedly attended the services that were performed by the Primate of the UOC, and “somehow we served in his home church, I was a sexton there”.

“And you know what surprised me: he sang in the choir. It turns out that his subordinates, as it were, led him. He stood in the choir with everyone and sang, he was not somewhere in the lead but sang in the choir. Usually, he came in a black cassock, with a cross, stood there aside and sang,” he noted.

According to Alexander Usik, the Primate of the UOC is “a colossus of our Orthodox faith, a stone that can be gazed steadily: Lord, forgive me and give me strength. <...> This is such a saint - what I see. A real man of prayer."

As for the various accusations against His Beatitude, Alexander added, people do it out of their weakness, but "the Lord gives him strength, and he will go through all this nonsense".

“We often condemn people we do not know, we do not know what they are doing, what they have to endure and withstand. All these are little things in life that will pass and be forgotten,” resumed the athlete.

As reported earlier, the European Parliament called on the Ukrainian authorities to ban the scandalous "Mirotvorets" site, which contains personal data of people working, according to the administrators of the resource, "against Ukraine". A number of "opponents of the independence of Ukrainian Orthodoxy", including the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, and boxer Alexander Usik, were added to the site's database.
