Former MP Igor Mosiychuk reported that the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv ordered the SBI to resume and fully investigate criminal proceedings related to inciting sectarian hatred during Poroshenko's presidency.
According to Mosiychuk, it goes about criminal proceedings, which were initiated by the SBI at the request of Filaret Denisenko, “but later, under pressure from the MPs from the EU, it was closed. As we can see, it is unlawful."
“Petr Alekseevich, get ready for interrogation! You will tell us how you traded faith,” wrote the former people's deputy.
As reported, on June 18, Poroshenko claimed that a criminal case was allegedly opened against him because of the Tomos. Later, the lawyer of the UOC-KP Neonilla Tkachenko noted that the case against the former President of Ukraine was opened at the claim of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
On July 31, 2020, the SBI announced the closure of the criminal proceedings, which Petro Poroshenko publicly called the "Tomos case", which in fact concerned the liquidation of the UOC-KP. Acting Director of the Bureau Alexander Sokolov explained that the case was closed due to the absence of signs of a criminal offence and, in his opinion, the cancellation of the registration of the UOC-KP should be considered within the framework of administrative or civil proceedings.
