UOC priest killed during the shelling in Kurakhivka, Donetsk region

On 22 January 2024, during the shelling of the village of Kurakhivka, Donetsk region, Archpriest Nikolai Fomin, the spiritual father of the Kurakhivka deanery, clergyman of the church of St. Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg in the village of Zoryane, Maryinka district, was killed. This was reported by the Pokrov Vicariate Telegram-channel.
The Divine Liturgy and the burial of the newly deceased clergyman will be held on 24 January in the town of Horniak, Pokrov district.
As the UOJ wrote, on 26 December 2023, the Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Anthony, said that 14 clergymen of the UOC had died during the full-scale war, 20 had been injured, and another five clerics were missing.
