On January 24, 2024, solemn events organized by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine took place in Kyiv on the occasion of the 95th birthday of the head of the UOC KP Filaret Denisenko. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.
Thematic exhibitions dedicated to the life and work of Filaret as the head of the UOC KP were held at the National Historical Library of Ukraine, the Yaroslav the Wise Library, the National Museum of History, and the Museum of Literature of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Culture noted that Denisenko "made a significant contribution to the spiritual independence of Ukraine, contributing to the separation of the UOC from the Moscow Patriarchate and obtaining the Tomos."
The exhibitions featured books about the activities of the head of the UOC KP, articles and interviews with him, his works, as well as liturgical vestments that Denisenko wore in the 1970s-1980s when he was the exarch of the ROC in Ukraine.
As reported by the UOJ, the head of the OCU, Serhiy Dumenko, congratulated Filaret on his 95th birthday and wished him to make "right decisions" at the end of his life.
