Members of parliament have received a signal from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to swiftly pass the bill No. 8371 banning the UOC in the second reading. Hromadske reports this, citing its own source.
According to MP from "European Solidarity" Mykola Kniazhytsky, the bill is already being considered by the humanitarian committee, and they want to toughen the law with amendments from the SBU, as well as simplify the process of communities switching from the UOC to the OCU.
According to the SBU document submitted, religious organizations can be liquidated if their "authorized persons" commit crimes against the fundamental principles of national security of Ukraine.
According to the publication, the committee is working on "strengthening" the bill so that it can pass the second reading and not be criticized by the European Union.
Another MP from "ES", Volodymyr Viatrovych, claims that there is a common desire in the Rada to put the bill up for consideration in the session hall, but there are many disagreements about the form in which it should be voted on.
As the UOJ reported, the SBU initiated a bill to liquidate denominations associated with the Russian Federation.
