"The beating of Metropolitan Longin shames Ukraine before the entire world community," wrote MP Artem Dmytruk on his Telegram channel. He recalled that this was not the first case of attacks on clerics and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
According to the MP, now the attention of the world is focused on Ukraine, "and such acts of terror cannot cannot escape the attention of foreign partners ".
"If we take into account the persecution of the clergy and believers, the situation looks very bad. Human rights organisations are beginning to ask questions to Ukrainian officials, to which they cannot give clear and truthful explanations. We are in one step towards an international scandal. Meanwhile, the incitement of hatred on religious grounds, bandit seizures of churches and beatings of clergymen and parishioners continue in the country. The situation is already getting out of control. Time is running out. It will only get worse," said Artem Dmytruk.
As reported, the Romanian President was urged to react to the beating of Metropolitan Longin.
