On 19 February 2024, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny underwent heart surgery in a Romanian clinic, the Bancheny Monastery reports on Instagram. The reason behind the bishop’s decision to choose a clinic in Romania for the surgery is not reported.
The monastery's press service wrote that the surgery was successful.
"With God's help, the operation was successful. Metropolitan Longin is saved!" the message on the Romanian page says. According to the UOJ, the heart surgery lasted for more than 4 hours.
As earlier reported, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny was attacked.
