On the night of April 14–15, in the village of Sadov, Volyn region, adherents of the OCU threw three buckets of muck into the priest's house of the UOC, one of which fell on the bed of the clergyman's daughter with a small child, reports the press service of the Volyn Eparchy.
The attack took place at 2:50 a.m. The 5-year-old grandson of Fr Vladimir Meles suffered the most. The frightened boy woke up from the noise – a bucket of sewage flew into the room through the broken window and fell on the bed where the child was sleeping.
“Representatives of law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene and found that what had been done was the work of representatives of the OCU, who, without waiting for the court's decision, take the law into their hands and try with all their might to evict the priest out into the street,” reports the press service.
Information about the attack was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. The investigation continues.
Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, deputy head of the Department for External Church Relations, reacted to the incident.
“Who are these people?” wrote the priest on his Telegram channel. “How much anger is there in them? And one more thing: it is also the responsibility of those who form this ideology of hatred, the victims of which are these rural people who do this in relation to the priest's family."
Church raiders seized the UOC temple in Sadov on February 2, 2019. After that, attempts continue to illegally evict the priest's family from the church house.
“Broken windows, threats with grenades, beating of the priest’s children,” they commented on the situation in the Volyn diocese. “And now these buckets of sewage ... Why is it such a "love" for the representatives of the OCU to do such things? What commandments are they guided by? Who do they believe in and who do they pray to? After all, both the temple and the house are only walls when only anger and hatred reign in the hearts of people."
As reported, the spokesperson for the OCU announced a new wave of "transfers".
