Archbishop of Albania: A Pan-Orthodox Council on Ukraine has to be convened

His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania

His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and all Albania wrote letters addressed to Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria, in which he expressed his opinion on how to resolve the "Ukrainian issue". This is reported by the Romfea website.

The letters, dated February 7, 2023, and March 14, 2024, condemn the actions of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa but warn against retaliatory tactics, as they do not solve problems but only prolong the conflict and exacerbate wounds.

"Since the beginning of the crisis, we have pleaded and continue to plead for the convening of a Pan-Orthodox Synod to address all the issues that have arisen in Ukraine, in Africa, and indeed in the entire Orthodox Church worldwide," he wrote.

As reported by the UOJ, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania sent a letter to the locum tenens of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, expressing words of support during these painful trials.
