Abp Victor offers condolences to families of those killed in RF shelling

On March 22, 2024, after Russian missile strikes on the city of Khmelnytsky and the region, it became known about the civilians killed and injured. Archbishop Victor of Khmelnytsky and Starokostiantyniv addressed words of support to the families and loved ones of the deceased. The message of sympathy was published by the diocese's press service.
"On behalf of the clergy and believers of the Khmelnytsky Diocese, I express sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased," the statement said. "The Khmelnytsky Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, along with its people, is experiencing the pain and heaviness of the losses brought daily by Russian military aggression into our homes."
He noted that clergy and believers of the Khmelnytsky Diocese offer daily prayers for our Ukrainian defenders, for the repose of the innocently killed, and for the recovery of all those injured.
"We pray for the advent of a victorious, blessed, and long-awaited peace in our native Ukrainian land," the bishop said.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported 2 deaths and at least 8 wounded in Khmelnytsky. Critical infrastructure facilities and residential buildings in the city have been damaged, with people being searched for under the rubble.
As the UOJ reported, a UOC temple in Chervonohryhorivka was damaged as a result of Russian shelling.
