On March 30, 2024, Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa met with families of Odesa residents, including families of SSES workers, emergency medical workers, and Odesa residents affected by shelling on March 2 and 15. The bishop handed over half a million hryvnias to the victims, the press service of the Odesa Eparchy reports.

"Today, 15 families of Odesa residents affected by Russian shelling on March 2 and 15 received financial assistance from the Odesa Eparchy of the UOC in the amount of half a million hryvnias. We pray for the deceased residents of Odesa and ask the Lord God to end this terrible war as soon as possible," the message says.

Charity fairs were held in the diocese to support these families. Metropolitan Agafangel gave each family an icon of the Kasper Mother of God and personally handed over financial assistance.

As the UOJ reported, Italy donated 500,000 euros for the destroyed cathedral of the UOC in Odesa.
