April 12, 2024, Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv announced that the International Human Rights Association "Church Against Xenophobia and Discrimination", led by him, plans to engage several foreign hierarchs in the defense of Orthodox journalists in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Diocese.

Metropolitan Theodosiy, in a phone conversation with the head of the law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, shared about his recent speech at the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in defense of Orthodox journalists from Ukraine.

"Some of them have been in pre-trial detention for over a year under inhumane conditions, while others, a group of several people, were thrown in there a month ago," he said.

According to him, the International Human Rights Association "Church Against Xenophobia and Discrimination", led by Metropolitan Theodosiy, plans to involve several foreign religious hierarchs in the public defense of persecuted journalists in Ukraine in the near future.
