OCU hopes to enter into "eucharistic communion" with Polish Church

"Hierarch" of the OCU Oleksandr Drabinko hopes that the Polish Orthodox Church will enter into eucharistic communion with his structure. This ex-metropolitan of the UOC told in an interview with "Polskie Radio".

According to Drabinko, "not all the Polish Orthodox Church, all its hierarchs, are so pro-Russian."

He acknowledged that "they do not recognize the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine," but said he hoped that "the Polish Orthodox Church, which is headed by His Beatitude Savva, will soon still recognize the status of the locality of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and we will enter into Eucharistic communion."

"Because this is the way the circumstances are, this is the way time demands it, and this is the way God, who for our sake came down, was crucified and rose again, so that we may have love among ourselves, as he said. Love and joy and peace, which should unite us," said Drabinko.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the "hierarch" of the OCU, Alexander (Drabinko), said in an interview with the Polish radio station Polskie Radio that the Polish Orthodox Church retains its opinion about the OCU, "but they do not remember what kind of opinion."
