On April 18, 2024, Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky officiated the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Archangel Michael Church in the city of Bobrovytsia, during which prayers were offered for the repose of the victims of the rocket shelling of Chernihiv on April 17. This was reported by the Nizhyn Eparchy.

The service was concelebrated by the secretary of the eparchial administration, Archpriest Valeriy Dashko, the dean of the Bobrovytsia Church District, the parish rector, Archpriest Mykola Doroshko, and clergy of the district.

After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Clement delivered a sermon and invoked God's blessings upon the congregation.

Russian troops carried out a rocket strike on Chernihiv in the morning of April 17. The strike targeted a residential quarter of the city and claimed the lives of 18 people, injuring 78 (including four children). Sixteen buildings, including residential homes, a hospital, and an educational institution, were damaged. The city declared a period of mourning.

As reported earlier, in Vovchansk, a church was on fire due to the arrival of a Russian air bomb.
