On April 29, 2024, in Orthodox churches in the cities of San Francisco and New York, supplications were held for Metropolitan Arseny of Sviatohirsk, who is detained in pre-trial detention, according to the website of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

The moleben at the relics of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco in the cathedral dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in San Francisco was led by the cathedral's sacristan, Archpriest Peter Perekrеstov, who was concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral.

The monastery recalls that through the efforts of Metropolitan Arseny in his native village of Adamivka in the Donetsk region, a skete in St. John's name was established. At the very place where the saint's parental home stood, a temple dedicated to St. John operates.

Also on this day, at 3:00 pm, simultaneously with the court session held in the Zhovtnevyi District Court of Dnipro city, a conciliar supplication was made before the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Sviatohirsk" in the Assumption Cathedral in the Lavra itself. The court considered a case of imposing arrest on property seized during a search in the Sviatohirsk monastery.

The brethren asks all the concerned to strengthen their prayers for Metropolitan Arseny.

As the UOJ wrote, in the Sviatohirsk Lavra, round-the-clock prayers are offered for the abbot of the monastery: the brethren and the resident sisters of the skete dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in the village of Bohorodychne continuously read akathists to the Protection of the Mother of God, to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, and to the Archangel Michael.
