Former Metropolitan of Kalavryta of the Greek Orthodox Church, Amvrosios, accused Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece of betraying moral law.

Metropolitan Amvrosios wrote a letter expressing his dissatisfaction with Archbishop Ieronymos' meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The letter states that Archbishop Ieronymos' stance on the legalization of same-sex marriages constitutes a crime and betrayal of moral law.

"Our Lord rained fire from heaven and burned Sodom and Gomorrah. Why don't you mention this? Why don't you protest?" Metropolitan Amvrosios exclaimed in dismay.

He reminded that the Church teaches love for the sinner but does not amnesty sin, forgiving it only in case of the sinner's repentance.

"The Church condemns passions! Hell is the destination for those who surrender to their passions!" Metropolitan Amvrosios wrote.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Greece passed a law on same-sex marriages.
