In the evening of May 21, a reliquary with the foot of Saint Apostle Andrew the First-Called arrived in Khmelnytskyi. As reported by the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy, the holy relic from the Assumption Monastery in Odesa was brought to St. Nicholas Cathedral before the start of the festive Vespers.
The reliquary, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, was delivered by Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne.
During the service, Archbishop Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Kostiantyniv addressed all those present in the cathedral on the occasion of celebrating the patronal feast and the arrival of the foot of Apostle Andrew the First-Called in Khmelnytskyi.
After venerating the relics, all believers received an icon of Apostle Andrew the First-Called for prayerful memory with the blessing of the ruling bishop.
On May 22, on the feast day of the Translation of the Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker from Myra to Bari, the Divine Liturgy in the Khmelnytskyi Cathedral was celebrated by bishops and clergy from various dioceses of the UOC.
During the service, numerous believers had the opportunity to venerate the relic.
Also, on the territory of St. Nicholas Cathedral, a charitable fair "Children in Support of the Defenders of Ukraine" took place. The funds raised will be donated for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
After the Divine Liturgy, a festive cross procession took place around the cathedral, after which Archbishop Victor thanked the hierarchs for their visit and thanked everyone for organizing the celebration.
Earlier, it became known that the reliquary with the foot of Andrew the First-Called will stay in the UOC Cathedral of Khmelnytskyi for three days.
