On June 11, 2021, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople celebrated his namesake day in a joint prayer with the “hierarchs” of the OCU. This was announced on his Facebook page by the spokesman of the OCU Eustratiy Zoria, who also took part in this event.
In addition to Zoria, the service of the head of Phanar in the church of St. Great Martyr George in Istanbul was attended by "metropolitan" Joasaph and "archimandrite" Theognost.
“The hierarchs of the Jerusalem and Georgian Patriarchates, the Churches of Cyprus and Greece also prayed during the liturgy,” said the spokesman of the OCU.
At the end of the event, Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul Alexander Gaman voiced an official congratulation from President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
As the UOJ reported, the day before, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople received “hierarch” of the OCU Mikhail Zinkevich.
