The visit of OCA Primate comes to end in Chernivtsi

On the final day of his visit to Ukraine, June 4, 2024, His Beatitude Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada Tikhon visited the Vvedensky Convent and the Residence of the Metropolitans of Bukovyna and Dalmatia in Chernivtsi, reported the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

The Primate of the American Church familiarized himself with the monastic life at the Vvedensky Convent of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy, communicated with the nuns, paid homage to the relics of the abode, and blessed the believers.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon also visited the Residence of the Metropolitans of Bukovyna and Dalmatia, which is an architectural monument. This complex was built in 1864-1882. After the Second World War, its buildings were used by the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Today, June 4, marks the conclusion of the visit of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America to Ukraine, which began on June 1 in Chernivtsi. The Primate of the OCA officiated a service at the Bancheny Monastery, visited the Pochaiv Lavra, the Holy Spirit Skete, monasteries, convents, and churches in the Ternopil and Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchies.

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Onuphry spoke about the purpose of the head of the American Church's visit to Ukraine.
