Vasily Makarovsky, the head of the NGO “Miriane” (“Laity”), a journalist and an Orthodox believer, was entered into the base of the scandalous site “Mirotvorets” (“Peacemaker”), which accuses him of inciting interethnic and sectarian hatred for the prayer he initiated under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada in defence of the rights of UOC believers.

On the site "Mirotvorets", Makarovsky is also blamed for "Participation in acts of humanitarian aggression against Ukraine", "Participation in anti-Ukrainian propaganda activities aimed at destabilizing public and political life", as well as the fact that he is "Opponent of the independence of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from Russia-controlled ROC".

In February 2021, the European Parliament (EP) approved a final resolution on Ukraine, in which it called on the Ukrainian authorities to “prohibit the activities of extremist and hate speech groups and websites, such as “Mirotvorets”, which create tension in society and misuse personal data from hundreds of people, including journalists, politicians and members of minority groups."

A number of "opponents of the independence of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from the Russia-controlled ROC" were added to the "Mirotvorets" database, including the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, the UOC spokesperson, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, and many others. The same list includes the believers of the UOC and famous Ukrainian boxers Alexander Usik and Vasily Lomachenko.

As the UOJ reported, on June 15, UOC believers took part in the prayer standing under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, initiated by the public association "Miriane", and held a 20,000-cross procession to the Office of the President, where they handed over to the authorities appeals in defence of their rights and the Church and bills against the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
