In Slovyansk, overnight from June 10 to June 11, unidentified individuals pasted provocative leaflets near the temples of the UOC, reports Vchasno.
Archbishop Paisiy of Kostiantynivka, the head of the Kramatorsk Vicariate of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC, and the secretary of the Kramatorsk Vicariate of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC, a clergyman of the "Holy Spirit parish of Slaviansk", Oleg Khyzhniakov, were accused of collaborationism.
When asked for comment, journalists turned to Archbishop Paisiy, who stated that he did not consider them serious accusations – the content presented in the text is simply an attempt to "destabilize the situation".
"First of all, we have no ties with the Russian Church. None. You know about the decision of the Feofania Council, don’t you? Secondly, some leaflets are just an attempt to destabilize the situation," said the archbishop.
When asked if he would respond to the leaflets, he replied that he had no intention of doing anything.
At the same time, when asked about ties and relationships with the Russian clergy, he noted that with colleagues in the UOC, "politics is not discussed".
As reported by the UOJ, on 25 September 2023, vicar bishops of the Horlivka Eparchy, Archbishop Spiridon of Dobropillia and Archbishop Paisiy of Kostiantynivka, were appointed vicars of the Kyiv Metropolis.
