The authorities of the United Arab Emirates said that the "Abu Dhabi’s Abrahamic Family House" or a multi-faith complex on Saadiyat island is twenty percent ready, according to khaleejtimes.com.
The temple is set to be built by 2022; the Christian Church of St. Francis, the Al Tayeb Mosque and the synagogue of Moses Ben Maimon will be erected on the territory of a single complex. The architectural style of the temples will meet the traditions of Islam, Christianity and Judaism.
The complex will feature a cultural center to exemplify the ideas of human fraternity and solidarity, help build a society based on the values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, while maintaining the unique character of each religion.
The design of the project was first presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the world meeting in New York in 2019 during the second meeting of the Supreme Committee of Human Brotherhood.
The complex is anticipated to become a cultural landmark of the UAE capital and a global symbol of friendship between the three religious denominations. Representatives of various religious communities from around the world were involved in its design.
As the UOJ previously reported, a "House of One" will be built in Berlin for Christians, Muslims and Jews.
