The First Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) sent congratulations to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the occasion of his Angel Day, which the Primate of the UOC celebrates on June 25.

Thus, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus wished His Beatitude inexhaustible strength, ample mercies from God and success in his further service for the benefit of the Holy Church.

“Performing the lofty and responsible ministry of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, you show paternal care for archpastors, pastors, monkhood and a multimillion flock; you constantly exhort people to fulfill the Gospel commandments, remind them of the importance of keeping faithfulness to canonical Orthodoxy; you set an example of ‘how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth’ (1 Tim. 3:15).

On this day, spiritually significant for Your Beatitude, I would like to testify that all the Church's fullness, empathizing with brothers and sisters in faith, raise a special petition to the Tsar of those who reign and the Lord of those who rule to end hostility and hardships, to establish peace and harmony in the Ukrainian land," Patriarch Kirill wrote, in particular, in his congratulation, the text of which was published by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Also, the Primate of the UOC received a congratulatory letter from Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the ROCOR.

“I mentally join today's congregational prayer of my fellow brothers, archpastors, pastors and all the Plentitude of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with love I send you my most cordial congratulations on the day of your namesake and the 50th anniversary of your feat of the angelic way of life! Turning now to the Monk Onuphrius the Great, we prayerfully ask his ardent intercession for you and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church that you lead, so that the Pastor-Christ will bestow His mercy to you, the episcopate, clergy and the entire flock, sprinkling everyone with the blessed gifts of the Life-giving Spirit of God!" says the congratulation of Metropolitan Hilarion, published on the website of the DECR UOC.

As the UOJ reported, on June 25, 2021, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrates the namesake day and the 50th anniversary of the monasticism of its Primate.
