On His Name Day, His Beatitude Onufriy leads Divine Liturgy in Feofania

On June 25, 2024, a festive worship was held at the St. Panteleimon Convent in Feofania, Kyiv, in honor of the Name Day of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, according to the UOC Information and Education Department.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine officiated the Divine Liturgy in the main cathedral of the nunnery on the feast day of St. Onuphrius the Great.
The Primate was concelebrated by the permanent members of the UOC Holy Synod: Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail, Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, Chairman of the UOC Church Court Metropolitan Theodore of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Horodok, Head of the UOC Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, UOC Chancellor Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, and Chairman of the UOC Information and Education Department Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky. Also present were metropolitans, archbishops, bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, clergy of the monastery, Kyiv, and guest clergy.
The service was attended by abbots and nuns from UOC monasteries and nunneries, pilgrims, and parishioners of the convent.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of the Kyiv Theological Academy, directed by Archimandrite Leontiy (Tupkalo).
During the Liturgy, the Primate prayed for God’s mercy upon the Ukrainian people, asking the Lord to grant wisdom to the authorities, strengthen the soldiers with courage, free the captives, heal the sick, and shelter the homeless.
At the end of the service, the congregation sang "Many Years" to the Primate on the occasion of his Name Day. Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail delivered a congratulatory speech. After this, the Primate was presented with an award from the Holy Synod – the Order of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church "Resurrection of Christ".
His Beatitude thanked everyone present for their congratulations and prayers, and he spoke to the congregation about the life of St. Onuphrius the Great.
Then, all the faithful who attended the festive service congratulated His Beatitude on his heavenly patron's day.
As reported by the UOJ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine was also congratulated on his Name Day by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia and the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
