On July 13, 2024, the day of the Assembly of the Glorious and All-Praiseworthy 12 Apostles, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine performed the great consecration of the church in honor of the Assembly of the Holy Apostles in Kyiv. This was reported by the UOC's Information and Education Department.
His Beatitude was joined by Archbishop Jonah of Obukhiv, Archbishop Sylvester of Bila Tserkva, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, the clergy of the church, and visiting priests.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude addressed the faithful with a sermon.
During the service, prayers were offered for peace on Ukrainian soil; for deliverance from the enemy; for God's mercy on the people, preservation of those in despair and without homes; for God's blessing on those of good will who help those in need. The Primate asked God for mercy on the Ukrainian people, to guide the authorities with wisdom, strengthen the soldiers with courage, free the captives, heal the sick, and provide shelter to the homeless.
After the dismissal, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry thanked the congregation for their prayers and congratulated them on the feast. The church community presented the Primate with an icon of the Assembly of the Holy Incorporeal Powers. At the end, the archpastor blessed everyone.
As reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry previously spoke to the faithful about the strength of the apostles Peter and Paul.
