Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk commented on the information that the Trump administration would consider imposing future sanctions against MPs and officials who lobby for the adoption of the bill to ban the UOC. As Dmytruk wrote on his Telegram channel, in the end, all persecutors of the Orthodox faith will receive their deserved punishment.

The MP noted that an official letter demanding sanctions against the initiators of bill No. 8371 had been handed over to J.D. Vance, the probable Vice President of the USA in the event of Donald Trump's election victory.

He also reminded of recent statements by Republicans related to the possible ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Specifically, U.S. Senator Rand Paul said, "In Ukraine, political parties are being banned, churches are being seized, and priests are being arrested. So no, this is not a democracy; this is a corrupt regime."

Stephen Moore, President of the Ukraine Freedom Project, stated that about a third of Republicans are concerned that Christians are being persecuted in Ukraine.

"In the end, all persecutors of the Orthodox faith, and indeed all who violate human rights in our state, will receive their deserved punishment! Things will get very interesting from here. This is just the beginning!" wrote Dmytruk.

As the UOJ reported, Robert Amsterdam announced that Bill 8371 is set to be voted on next week.
