During the blockade of the Verkhovna Rada's rostrum due to the failure to vote on a bill banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the head of the "European Solidarity" faction, Petro Poroshenko, urged attendees to watch Michael Jackson's performance, which supposedly included a statement that "the ROC is a blow to the heart of Ukraine". The ex-president's statement was published by Ukrainian Telegram channels.

In this way, the politician aimed to convince those present that the United States supports the adoption of Bill No. 8371.

"I want to remind you that, with the Tomos that I as President of Ukraine had the honour to receive from the Ecumenical Patriarch, one of the first to congratulate me was Trump. These are fakes spread by Moscow, the FSB, 'Orthodox b**es,' and Derkaches, supposedly claiming that Americans are against it. Please watch Michael Jackson's performance, where he says that the ROC is a blow to the heart of Ukraine!" Poroshenko stated.

According to media reports, the head of 'European Solidarity' confused Speaker of the House Mike Johnson with the late pop star Michael Jackson.

As reported by the UOJ, the Attorney General received a complaint about Poroshenko inciting religious hatred.
