In Bulgaria, vandals have once again desecrated the grave of Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Neophyte, located under the colonnade of the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Nedelya, BGnes reports.
Early on the morning of July 20, it was discovered that the mother-of-pearl icon of the Resurrection of Christ, located on the grave cross, had been damaged: the figure of the Savior and the cross were scratched.
As the UOJ reported, in April 2024, a mentally ill man damaged the grave of the Bulgarian Patriarch. He was detained by law enforcement but was soon released.
