On July 15, 2021, the Supreme Court of Ukraine refused to satisfy the cassation appeal of Andrei Yurash, who is trying to challenge the results of the competition for filling the position of the head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience.
The corresponding court decision was published in the Unified State Register on Friday, July 16, 2021.
Yurash appealed to the Supreme Court of Ukraine, intending to challenge the decision of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal of Kyiv, which on January 21, 2021, did not satisfy his claim with a demand to declare illegal and cancel the order of the Cabinet of Ministers on the appointment of Elena Bohdan as the head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy.
“Refusing to satisfy the claim, the court of the first instance, with which the appellate court agreed, concluded that there were no grounds for satisfying the claim, taking into account the establishment of the circumstances in the case, which refuted the plaintiff's arguments set out in the claim regarding the violations committed during the job competition for a civil service position,” says the court decision of the cassation instance.
Earlier, Andrei Yurash claimed the position of head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience, but failed, as he put it, "because of the order of Putin and the Moscow Patriarchate". In February 2020, Elena Bohdan was appointed to the post. Yurash is one of the main OCU lobbyists in Ukrainian politics.
