Primate of UOC meets with delegations of Local Orthodox Churches

On July 27, 2021, after the end of the festive Vespers in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, received the delegations of the Local Orthodox Churches, who had arrived to celebrate the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, the Information and Educational Department of the UOC reports.

It is noted that, representatives of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, headed by the secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop Ephraim of Seleucia, and bishops Stefan of Remesiana and Hierofei of Toplice, the vicars of Patriarch Porfirije from the Serbian Church, arrived in Kyiv on the occasion of the festivities. Also, a representative of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, Archbishop Mikhail of Prague, came to the celebrations in the capital of Ukraine. The guests congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry on the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus and conveyed congratulations from the Primates of their Churches.

The meeting was attended by Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, as well as bishops and priests from the Ukrainian side who aссompany foreign delegations.

As the UOJ reported, the Primate of the UOC officiated the Vespers on the eve of the Day of the Baptism of Rus.
