The organizers of the Great Cross Procession of the UOC commented on the words of Vladimir Zelensky that the cross walkers had no water at all. Archpriest Viktor Ivashchuk, secretary of the Kiev diocese for Kyiv city, told the UOJ that the President had been misled.

“I was very surprised to hear this from the President,” the priest said. “Everyone who attended the celebrations of the UOC on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Rus on July 27 and 28 could personally see for themsleves that there was no shortage of water. Pallets with bottles were installed throughout the Lavra. There were 44,000 of them. Those who were heading on July 27 from the Vladimir Hill to the Lavra immediately stocked up on water. Moreover, on the hill itself, people were given another 5,000 bottles of water. In addition, there were two water cisterns supplied by the Kyiv authorities along the cross procession itinerary. Thus, there was enough water for everyone, that's for sure."

We will remind, on July 28, in a conversation with reporters, Vladimir Zelensky said that the participants in the Great Cross Procession "did not even have drinking water."
