Andriy Bokoch, a deputy of the Volyn Regional Council, announced an upcoming court hearing to consider the possible eviction of the administration of the Volodymyr-Volynsky Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) from the premises of the Dormition Cathedral in the city of Volodymyr-Volynsky. The regional publication "Bug" reports on this. The premises also house the diocesan administration and a theological school. The deputy assured that he would personally attend all court hearings to "return the Dormition Cathedral to the fold of the OCU".
"I would like to inform you that today (September 3) at 11:30, a court hearing begins at the Volyn Regional Economic Court, located at 54A Voli Avenue, in the city of Lutsk. As a deputy of the Volyn Regional Council and an assistant to MP Ihor Huz, I will be present at this court hearing, as well as at all subsequent hearings in this case. I am confident that we will succeed in returning our Dormition Cathedral to the fold of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine," Bokoch emphasized.
As reported by the UOJ, Bokoch previously attempted to pressure the police, effectively threatening them with "popular anger" if they did not seal the UOC cathedral in Volodymyr.
