Epiphany’s gratitude to Poroshenko earns standing ovation among OCU adepts

During the liturgy in concelebration with Patriarch Bartholomew at St. Sophia in Kyiv on August 22, the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko thanked everyone who took part in the granting of the Tomos, separately noting former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, which triggered a storm of applause among the supporters of the OCU.
“I thank Petro Poroshenko, who was also directly related to the historical event (the bestowal of the Tomos – Ed.) for the Ukrainian church,” Epiphany said.
Petro Poroshenko and his wife Marina attended the liturgy held in St. Sophia of Kyiv. After the solemn part, Patriarch Bartholomew kissed the ex-president three times.
As the UOJ previously reported, according to media reports, supporters of the OCU from all over Ukraine were brought to the service with the head of Phanar.
