Head of Phanar returns home to Istanbul

On the evening of August 24, the head of the Phanar, Patriarch Bartholomew, finished his visit to Ukraine and left home, to Turkey, from Boryspil International Airport, reports the OCU website.

The guest from Istanbul was personally accompanied by the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko and the “hierarchs” of the structure created by the Phanar.

In the photos with the head of the Phanar, state officials are also visible. In particular, the director of the Department for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Andrei Yurash and the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov were present.

At parting, Patriarch Bartholomew thanked the members of the OCU "for everything".

As reported, the head of the Phanar did not come out to the believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who were waiting for him near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
