Ukrainian Orthodox Church priest Father Ioann Polishchuk was detained by representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) as part of forced mobilization on the evening of October 1. According to Archpriest Serhiy Yarema on Facebook, physical force and psychological pressure are being used against the priest.

"He is currently in one of the military units in the Zakarpattia region. Physical force and psychological pressure are being applied to Father Ioann because he refuses mobilization on religious grounds," the priest wrote.

Father Serhiy is asking the faithful to pray for Father Ioann.

As previously reported by UOJ, Father Ioann Polishchuk was detained by TRC representatives in Kremenets, Ternopil region. Father Ioann had recently arrived in Kremenets from Germany, where he had been providing spiritual care to UOC parishioners for more than a year.

Earlier, Metropolitan Theodosiy asked for prayers for the mobilized UOC cleric.
