On 6 October, a group of raiders from the OCU seized the Church of Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of the UOC in the village of Novosilky, Kyiv region. According to sources of the Telegram channel ‘Dozor’, the raid was led by the UGCC cleric Mykola Medynsky.

It is reported that there have been several attempts to take away the shrine from the Orthodox Christians.

“First they seized St Nicholas’s Church of the UOC. This seemed not enough for the raiders. Activists of the OCU took up the second church and arranged a meeting of the territorial community, where they falsified documents,” the publication says.

On that day, a group of raiders led by UGCC cleric Medynsky entered the church territory. When the parishioners of the UOC tried to get into their shrine, the intruders started a brawl.

“The believers called the police, to whom Medynsky cynically said that this was his temple, and Orthodox Christians interfered with him. The shrine remains occupied by criminals,” Dozor reports.

The journalists also claim that local activists had set fire to the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos three times.

As the UOJ wrote, on the evening of 25 December 2023 in the village of Novosilky there was a fire in the UOC Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, as reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

We also wrote about the arson of UOC temples and about “free transitions” to the OCU.
