The community of the Church of St. Vladimir the Great of the Lviv Eparchy of the UOC made a statement regarding the "consecration" by Epiphany Dumenko of the construction site of a new OCU cathedral on a land plot that was once allocated by the city authorities to the UOC community. The statement, published on the “Orthodox journalist” Youtube channel, was read by the rector of the UOC St. Vladimir community, Archpriest Vladimir Kuzio.

He said that the parishioners were shocked by the number of police who cordoned off the site of Sergei Dumenko's "consecration" of the illegal construction. “It's horrible to see the number of police and the national guard gathered to guard this place,” Father Vladimir said. "Today we met with contempt for the law and criminal acts."

He noted that the OCU has no right to build on the site allocated by the authorities to the UOC community. According to him, the community has won all the lawsuits against the schismatics.

As reported, the OCU has no right to carry out construction work on this site. In 1991, the city allocated this land to the UOC community, which almost completed there the construction of a large stone church of the Holy Prince Vladimir. In 1993, the church was seized by the Filaret schismatics, and over time, the believers of the UOC built a small wooden church of St. Prince Vladimir next to it. Now both churches (UOC and OCU) bear the same name and are located at the same address – 89, Chervona Kalyna Avenue.

As reported, in Lviv, Dumenko, under police protection, “consecrated” the site for the future cathedral.
