False information was spread in the media claiming that Metropolitan Mark, the head of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC, is allegedly building a house in Sergiev Posad near Moscow. The eparchy's press service published a refutation regarding this matter.

"The information circulating on the internet is untrue. The bishop did own a house during his tenure as the dean of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. After his transfer to another place of service, the building was handed over to the monastery," the statement said.

Journalist Vitaly Hlahola, who published the false claim about the UOC hierarch, himself noted that Metropolitan Mark was appointed the dean of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra back in 1978. By 1985, he had become the abbot of the Pochaiv Lavra.

"The building shown in the photographs has no relation to the archpastor. At this time, the bishop does not own any buildings and has no property obligations to the Russian Federation," the UOC press service added.

As previously reported, the Bukovynian UOC parish in Vasylivka refuted the media's lies about its transition to the OCU.
